CVLI Opening Night

Kick off the Cedar Valley Leadership Institute experience with an evening designed to help our newest CVLI class connect, build relationships, and set the tone for the months ahead!

CVLI Opening Night brings the class together for the first time in a relaxed, welcoming environment at Venue 209 in Cedar Falls. The evening will begin with a welcome reception before moving into an interactive icebreaker led by Laura Hoy, Consultant with The Wholehearted Journey.

Laura Hoy is a dynamic guide, teacher, and facilitator who passionately advocates for a holistic, embodied approach to wellness for herself and others. Individuals and groups are drawn to her passion and to the tools and encouragement she offers others as they take steps on their personal, relational, civic, and professional journeys.

As a community development practitioner in Waterloo's Walnut Neighborhood, Laura coaches others in their approach to community engagement and change. Laura is also certified with The Narrative Enneagram and offers the Enneagram as a personality tool to individuals, couples, and groups, as she has personally found the Enneagram to be a powerful vehicle for greater self-awareness, getting unstuck, and wholehearted living.

From there, participants will gather around the table for a Bread & Salt Dinner featuring guided conversations designed to move beyond the typical introductions and create meaningful connections from day one.

This opening evening is all about getting to know the people you'll be learning alongside, building a strong foundation as a class, and preparing for the CVLI experience ahead.
