CVMA Q4 Meeting: Advocacy in Manufacturing

How does manufacturing make its voice heard?

Join the Cedar Valley Manufacturers Association for our Q4 meeting as we take a practical look at advocacy in manufacturing—how the process works, why manufacturers should be part of the conversation, and how industry needs can make their way from the shop floor to the statehouse.

We’ll bring together local leaders, manufacturing advocates, and legislators to help answer questions like: If an issue is impacting your business or industry, where do you start? Who needs to hear about it? How does an idea become legislation? And when and how can manufacturers have the greatest impact?

Whether you're already engaged in advocacy or have no idea where to begin, this meeting is designed to give you a better understanding of the process and how you can help make manufacturing's voice heard.

Get a practical introduction to advocacy and what manufacturers need to know about engaging in the process. We’ll explore how industry needs are identified, how manufacturers can effectively communicate those needs, and how businesses can build stronger relationships with decision-makers.

12:00 PM | Legislative Roundtable: From Shop Floor to Statehouse
We’ll sit down with area legislators for an educational conversation about how the legislative process actually works. How does an idea become a bill? What happens after you bring an issue to a legislator? When should manufacturers speak up? What makes industry advocacy effective?

This is an opportunity to better understand the process and learn how manufacturers can be informed, engaged voices for their businesses, employees, and industry.

Wrap up the afternoon with additional time to connect with fellow CVMA members, community leaders, and our legislative guests.
